The Province of B.C. has issued a statement regarding the use of face masks for protection against wildfire smoke.

Interior Health (IH) recommends the best protection for the public is to reduce overall exposure to smoke, recognizing that face masks have their limitations.

IH recommends people monitor the Air Quality Advisories and Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) as they relate to their local area, and to behave accordingly.

Concerns regarding Air Quality persist throughout the SLRD, due to the wildfires burning within B.C.'s Interior.

You can check the Air Quality ratings for Fraser Canyon (Electoral Area A and B, Lillooet), Howe Sound (Electoral Area D, Squamish) and Whistler (Electoral Area C, Pemberton) here.
