Expression of Interest: FireSmart Coordinator

The SLRD is seeking interest from qualified persons with the appropriate certifications and expertise to provide FireSmart Coordinator Services within each of the SLRD’s four Electoral Areas. Services will involve the coordination and delivery of selected activities within scope of the SLRD 2023 FireSmart Community Funding and Supports project on a fixed-term contract between February 5 and November 8, 2024.

Lillooet Landfill Service

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD), as per Board direction, is seeking participating area approval and consent for Squamish-Lillooet Regional District & Area Refuse Disposal Local Service Conversion and Establishment Bylaw No. 508, 1993, Amendment Bylaw No. 1834-2023.

The Bylaw was given first three readings at the November 22, 2023 SLRD Board meeting.

Bralorne Water Service Interruption – Monday, October 23

Bralorne Townsite 2 Water System users will experience water service interruptions due to a water service repair. The contractor will be on site to complete the work between 9 am to 5 pm on Monday, October 23, 2023.

  • When the water is turned back on, residents may experience the following:
  • Water pressure may be temporarily reduced.

You may experience temporary discolouration of water. If so, run water for 5 - 10 minutes until water clears.

Service Notification - Gold Bridge Transfer Station

Regular winter hours of operation are resuming as of Monday, October 9, 2023, at the Gold Bridge Transfer Station.

  • Sunday 10 am – 4 pm
  • Thursday 10 am – 4 pm

We heard from the community that continued extended hours would be greatly appreciated. The SLRD is currently working with the province to address the community’s needs for additional hours of operation at the Gold Bridge Transfer Station.

Evacuation ALERT RESCINDED - Downton Lake Electoral Area A

Based on consultation with the BC Wildfire Service, the SLRD has assessed that potential danger to life and health due to the Downton Lake wildfire has subsided to the degree that the current Evacuation Alert is no longer required in some areas.

Effective September 25, 2023 at 1630, the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District has rescinded the Evacuation Alert applying to the following area:​
