Electoral Area B Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw No. 1776-2023

Project Overview

Amendment Bylaw No. 1776-2023 proposes amendments to the Electoral Area B Official Community Plan Adoption Bylaw No. 1073, 2008. Changes are largely proposed to ensure continued alignment with the Electoral Area B Zoning Bylaw. The Zoning Bylaw is being updated under a separate Amendment Bylaw (Bylaw No. 1752-2022) intended to reflect recent Provincial agricultural changes. Bylaw No. 1752-2022 received second reading on March 22, 2023.

Agrologists to visit Electoral Areas A and B for Agricultural Land Use Inventory

The BC Ministry of Agriculture and Food, and the Partnership for Water Sustainability in BC are completing an Agricultural Land Use Inventory (ALUI) across Electoral Areas A and B of the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District.

Agrologists and field technicians are mapping crops, irrigation, natural vegetation, buildings, livestock facilities, and farm practices in the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR) and parcels otside the ALR where farming is observed.

Request for Proposals: Digital Orthophotography Project

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) is requesting Proposals from qualified proponents to lead a Digital Orthophotography project in Electoral Areas A & B that will support the completion of an Agricultural Land Use Inventory (ALUI) in the area of interest and assist land use decision-making including agricultural area planning, official community planning, and bylaw updates.

Pemberton, BC– With support from the Union of BC Municipalities, through the Community Resiliency Investment Program, and help from locally-based Landscope Consulting, the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) is kicking off its 2023 FireSmart program with free activities for all Electoral Area residents.

The SLRD is encouraging every resident to take part in FireSmart activities and help mitigate the risk of wildfire on their property and in their community.
