The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has opened Pemberton Portage Road at Neff Creek to single-lane alternating traffic, while repairs are underway.

Further assessment of the area will take place this afternoon.

Pemberton Portage Road is closed in both directions, due to a landslide in the vicinity of Neff Creek, in Electoral Area C of the SLRD.

There is debris on the roadway, and the area has been deemed unsafe for travel at this time.

A Regular Meeting of the Electoral Area Directors (EAD) Committee will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the SLRD Administration Building, 1350 Aster Street, Pemberton, BC (the “Meeting Location”).

The meeting agenda will be posted on the SLRD website at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.

A Regular Meeting of the Pemberton Valley Utilities and Services (PVUS) Committee will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. via electronic facilities at the SLRD Administration Building, 1350 Aster Street, Pemberton, BC (the “Meeting Location”).

The meeting agenda will be posted on the SLRD website at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.

The BC Wildfire Service and the Lil’wat Nation has issued an information bullet regarding two prescribed burns 9 kilometres north of the village of Pemberton, BC, in an area referred locally as the Owl Creek Drainage. This will be a collaboration between Lil’wat Forestry Ventures (LFV), the forestry division of the Lil’wat First Nation, and BC Wildfire Service (BCWS).

The public is invited to join a Public Information Meeting, taking place in person and electronically, to learn more about the Lillooet Lake Estates and Heather Jean Properties Zoning and Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaws. This is an opportunity to ask questions and share your ideas or concerns. Information about the project is available on the project page. 

A special meeting of the Sea to Sky Regional Hospital District (SSRHD) Board will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the SLRD Administration Building: 1350 Aster Street Pemberton, BC.

The purpose of the Special Meeting is to consider agenda items that would be otherwise considered at the May 25, 2022 Regular Meeting of hte SSRHD Board - which has been cancelled due to scheduling issues. Specifically, the Special Meeting agenda items are as follows:

A Special Meeting of the Pemberton Valley Utilities and Services (PVUS) Committee will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 9 a.m. via electronic facilities at the SLRD Administration Building, 1350 Aster Street, Pemberton.

The purpose of the Special Meeting is to consider an agenda item from the cancelled May 12, 2022 Regular Meeting of the PVUS Committee, specifically the community basketball court project. (The remainder of the agenda items from the cancelled May 12 2022 meeting will be considered at the next Regular Meeting of the PVUS Committee, on June 9, 2022).
