Sea to Sky Regional Hospital District Board - 23 Feb 2022

The Sea to Sky Regional Hospital District Board meetings start at 2:30 PM (or immediately following the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District Board meetings) in the months of January, February, March, April, May, June, July, September, and December.

SLRD Declares State of Local Emergency

The State of Local Emergency (SoLE) declared ofr the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) Electoral Area C, has been expanded to also include Electoral Area D.


November 30, 2021

A State of Local Emergency (SoLE) has been declared for Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) Electoral Area C, in response to landslide hazard within the area of Birken, in Electoral Area C of the SLRD.

Flood Watch Issued for Areas Around Howe Sound, Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton

The BC River Forecast Centre is upgrading to a Flood Watch for the South Coast including:

  • Sea‐to‐Sky including areas around Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton
  • Sunshine Coast
  • Howe Sound
  • North Shore Mountains
  • Lower Mainland including areas along the Fraser Valley and areas around Hope

The River Forecast Centre is maintaining a Flood Warning for:

High Streamflow Advisory for South Coast, including Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton

The River Forecast Centre is issuing a High Streamflow Advisory for the South Coast including:

  • Sea-to-Sky including areas around Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton
  • Sunshine Coast
  • Howe Sound
  • North Shore Mountains
  • Lower Mainland including areas along the Fraser Valley and areas around Hope

The River Forecast Centre is maintaining a Flood Warning for:

Environment Canada weather warning for the Sea to Sky

Special weather statement in effect for: Pemberton, Whistler and Howe Sound

Another round of heavy rain is on the way.
Total Rainfall: 40 to 80 mm

Locations: Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, particularly near the mountains. The Sea to Sky corridor and the Sunshine Coast from Gibsons to Earls Cove.

Timespan: Wednesday night through early Friday morning.

Other Risks: Strong southeast winds near the water on Thursday.

Via Squamish-Lillooet Regional District Howe Sound East Fire Protection Service Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 1716-2021 (the “Borrowing Bylaw”), the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) is proposing to borrow funds of up to $1,200,000 over a term of 25 years for the purpose of acquiring a replacement fire truck for the use and benefit of electors in the Service Area.
