Volunteer Firefighters - Britannia Beach Volunteer Fire Department

The Britannia Beach Volunteer Fire Department is recruiting Firefighters.

The job is exciting and varied. No previous firefighting experience is required; all training is provided.

New recruit training begins January 3, 2022 with an orientation meeting.

This opportunity is open to residents of Britannia Beach, Furry Creek and Porteau Cove.

Pinecrest Estates Emergency Water Service Repair – October 26, 2021

Tuesday, October 26 between 9 am – 5 pm Pinecrest Estates residents will experience water service interruptions due to an emergency water service repair.

When the water service returns:

  • Water pressure may be temporarily reduced.
  • You may experience temporary discolouration of water. If so, run water for 5 - 10 minutes until water clears.

The River Forecast Centre is ending the High Streamflow Advisory for:

High Streamflow Advisory Upgraded to Flood Watch for Howe Sound; Advisory Issued for Lillooet River near Pemberton

The Highstreamflow Advisory issued by the BC River Forecast Centre has been upgraded to a Flood Watch for Howe Sound, effective October 15, 2021.

The River Forecast Centre is uprading to a flood watch for:

  • North Shore Mountains
  • Metro Vancouver
  • Howe Sound
  • Sunshine Coast

The River Forecast Centre is maintining the High Streamflow Advisory for:

Special Weather Statement issued for Howe Sound and Squamish

Environment Canada has issued a weather warning for South Western regions of B.C., including parts of the SLRD, starting Friday morning and through the weekend to Sunday morning. Rainfall totals could reach 75 to 150 mm over 2 days.

Locations: Western and mountainous sections of Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast near Sechelt and Gibsons, Howe Sound, Whistler, Metro Vancouver and the Fraser valley especially near the mountains, in communities such as Mission. Eastern sections of Vancouver Island near Bowser may also be affected.
