Changes to Lillooet Landfill Fees & Charges Bylaw

Bylaw No. 1297-2013, cited as “Lillooet Landfill Fees and Charges Regulation Bylaw No. 1297-2013”, was adopted by the SLRD Board at the October 28, 2013 Board Meeting. This new bylaw, designed to allow for better management and tracking of wastes at the Lillooet Landfill, also addresses new programs such as Composting and the upcoming Printed Paper and Packaging Stewardship program. The update bylaw also includes a new fee schedule for wastes brought to the Landfill. 

Renowned community economist and author, Michael Shuman, coming to Lillooet

The Northern Economic Development and Initiatives (NEDI) Committee is pleased to bring Michael Shuman, one of North America's leading experts on community economics, to speak in Lillooet on February 27th. 

The event will take place at the Lillooet REC Centre with the program running from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and refreshments will be served; people are encouraged to come early to mix and mingle. Admission is free.

The Upper Bridge River Valley is a friendly “community of communities” with a small town feel and a distinct identity anchored in its mountain surroundings and its mining past. It is the home to long-time residents with mining roots, young families new to the area, and both new and established part-time residents.
