Traffic control planned on Hwy 99 southbound out of Whistler on Sunday, January 8, 2pm - 7pm
The Resort Municipality has advised that, in order to alleviate south-bound traffic on Sunday, January 8, the RMOW and Whistler Blackcomb will partner to station traffic control personnel along Highway 99.
Traffic personnel will be monitoring or controlling intersections from Lake Placid Road south to Cheakamus Lake Road at Function Junction, from 2pm to 7pm.
Anticipate delays heading south in the afternoon and evening, and please adjust your plans accordingly.

Rain, at times heavy, is expected. An offshore low pressure centre and associated frontal system will move northeastward and approach the BC Coast this afternoon. Rain will begin in the Howe Sound region late this afternoon and become heavy at times tonight with upwards of 50 mm expected. The rain will continue into Thursday afternoon with the total rainfall amounts approaching 80 mm over a 24 hour period.

Rain, heavy at times, is expected. 50 mm of rainfall can be expected over the North Shore and Howe Sound by Wednesday morning as a frontal system and associated low centre track across the south coast today and tonight.

Rain, at times heavy, is expected. An intense Pacific frontal system will move slowly across the South Coast of British Columbia today and tonight. Heavy rain will accompany the frontal system. Across the Metro Vancouver area the highest rainfall amounts will occur near the North Shore mountains where 50 to 70 mm of rainfall is expected by Thursday morning. Heavy rain will also develop across Howe Sound and the Sunshine Coast regions. 70 to 90 mm is expected for Howe Sound and 50 to 70 mm is expected for the Sunshine Coast.
