Who we are
The SLRD Wildfire Mitigation team is a group of formally trained wildfire mitigation and firefighting professionals, dedicated to empowering all residents to create and maintain resilient homes and communities.
What we do
Our mission is to educate and support all SLRD residents in learning how to coexist with wildfire. Seasonally and pending on grant funding from the Union of BC Municipalities' FireSmart Community Funding and Supports, free initiatives and activities are offered to help SLRD communities with their wildfire mitigation and emergency preparedness efforts.
Upcoming community visits and events
