The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD), in partnership with the District of Lillooet (DOL), has received funding from the 2021 Union of BC Municipalities Community Resiliency Investment to expand the 2021 FireSmart program in the SLRD’s four Electoral Areas and in the DOL.

These funds will be applied in a project titled FireSmart Residential Risk Reduction for Seniors. This project will include the provision of FireSmart Home Ignition Zone Assessments and any yard work recommended through those assessments for SLRD and DOL residents aged 65 years and older. This project will be conducted in parallel with other residential FireSmart work being conducted this year throughout the SLRD.

The SLRD is seeking interest from qualified persons with the appropriate certifications, experience, and expertise for the provision of FireSmart Project Coordinator services. Services will involve the coordination of the SLRD and DOL’s FireSmart Residential Risk Reduction for Seniors project on a fixed-term contract anticipated to be from August 6th, 2021 to June 3rd, 2022.

Interested candidates are invited to submit by email only no later than 4:00pm on
