A draft Management Plan for the Riverside Wetlands/Ském’em Community Park was approved by the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District and Líl'wat Nation Chief and Council earlier this year.
Now, we want to hear from you!
The Management Plan was prepared collaboratively by the SLRD and Líl'wat Nation, with additional input from the Pemberton Wildlife Association, Stewardship Pemberton Society and the Pemberton Valley Trails Association. The co-operative effort highlighted how many different users enjoy and value the park.
The SLRD and Líl'wat Nation want to ensure all users' needs are met by the management plan.
The draft Management Plan is available for community review and comment, until May 1, 2017.
Public comments will be compiled and shared with the SLRD Board and Líl'wat Nation Chief and Council when the Plan is submitted for final approval.
An approved joint Management Plan is a stepping stone in applying for tenure for the southern part of the park, (where Bathtub Trail is) – in order to ensure the land is protected as a community park forever.
