A public information meeting has been scheduled for Monday September 18 at 6:30 pm.
The SLRD has prepared updates and revisions to the Electoral Area D Official Community Plan (OCP) and Zoning Bylaws as a result of a number of recent changes to the Provincial Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR) regulations and other issues. This meeting will also host an information session on the proposed Britannia Beach Oceanfront Development rezoning application that has recently been submitted to the SLRD.
Electoral Area D - Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw No. 1524 and Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1525
The proposed updates to the community plan include a number of agricultural policy updates, housekeeping changes and development permit changes with respect to riparian areas, and tree cutting in Britannia Beach. The proposed zoning changes include a number of housekeeping changes, and agriculture related updates, as well as a new urban agriculture use for the RR1 zone that applies to Ring Creek and some other rural areas. The Rustad Road properties in the Upper Squamish Valley are being rezoned from RR3 to RR2 as they were originally intended - a mapping error resulted in them being zoned RR3. There are also proposed changes to the gross floor area calculations for basements and attached garages with respect to dwellings.
More information, including the staff reports and bylaws for the Area D update can be found on the Area D OCP and Zoning Amendment Bylaws project page.
