The Village of Pemberton, in partnership with the Squamish‐Lillooet Regional District, presents the third annual Emergency Preparedness Week Open House on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Pemberton & District Community Centre’s Great Hall from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Residents will meet local emergency responders and are invited to tour the emergency vehicles used by Pemberton Fire Rescue, RCMP, BC Ambulance, and Pemberton Search & Rescue. Kids can meet Smokey the Bear and enjoy the Fire Department’s hot dog BBQ. The Pemberton Forestry Base will offer demonstrations on how to build a sandbag dyke, and Pemberton Valley Dyking District will answer any questions. The Conservation Officer will share Wildlife and Bear Smart tips. Emergency social services, including Red Cross and Victim Services, will host displays with information on their programs.
