Affected Area: Area A - Tyaughton Lake water users
Due to the temporary DO NOT USE Water Quality notice in place for all those who draw water from Tyaughton Lake, Potable Water Filling Stations have been set up in Goldbridge. The three locations are marked on the map:
- Garden - past the cardlock, kitty corner on the Gold Bridge Hotel
- Bottle Depot - below the ambulance building
- Cemetery - approximately in the middle
Please bring your own containers to one of the filling stations, which will also be marked with signage.
The DO NOT USE Water Quality notice means no water can be used from the Lake for drinking, showering or any other use until further notice. This is not a boil water advisory. You CANNOT make the water safe by boiling it.
The SLRD is working closely with Interior Health and the BC Ministry of the Environment to ensure that impacts from yesterday’s float plane crashed are minimized, and that water sourced from Tyaughton Lake is returned to a safe condition as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Further updates will be issued as the situation evolves.
If you have questions or concerns regarding the Water Quality notice please contact Ryan Wainwright, Emergency Program Manager at 604-698-6442 or firstname.lastname@example.org
