Rainfall Warning issued for Howe Sound (January 28, 2018)

Note from the SLRD: the Rainfall Warning below was issued on Sunday, January 28 at 3:38 a.m. It impacts SLRD Area D and the District of Squamish. 

Current details:
Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

A moisture-laden frontal system will move today the south coast today. Rain has developed early this morning and will intensify in the afternoon. 60 to 90 millimetres of rain will fall by Monday before the front weakens and exits the area.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
