Environment Canada is predicting that an atmospheric river (Pineapple Express) event will impact the Sea to Sky Corridor over the next 48 hours. The mix of rain and snow, as well as the expected rainfall intensities through Thursday morning will make travel treacherous throughout the SLRD.

The SLRD Emergency Program recommends that all non-essential travel be delayed until the storm event passes. If travel is absolutely required, remember to check Drive BC before setting out, make sure your vehicle is equipped with winter tires and/or chains, and leave plenty of extra time to allow for conditions.

Note for people planning to travel BC Highway 99 / Duffey Lake Road: Drive BC is reporting that the Duffey Lake Road may be subject to closure, due to high avalanche hazard north of the south end of Duffey Lake Road. Please obey all signs and traffic control people.
