FLOOD ALERT LIFTED: Paradise Valley, communities downstream of Daisy Lake Dam

Please be advised that the Flood Alert has been lifted for the Paradise Valley, and all communities downstream of the Daisy Lake Dam. 

UPDATE: 12:45 p.m. PST December 11, 2014

Please be advised that the FLOOD ALERT remains in effect for the Paradise Valley, and all communities downstream of Daisy Lake Dam. The Flood Alert is expected to remain in effect for at least the next 24 hours. The SLRD will continue to update this notice as more information becomes available.

December 10, 2:00 p.m. PST

Please be advised that BC Hydro has issued a FLOOD ALERT for the Paradise Valley, and all communities downstream of Daisy Lake Dam. The Cheakamus River will reach bankfull conditions for the next 24 hours, and localized flooding in low-lying areas should be expected.

An evacuation alert has not been issued at this point, but residents should be prepared to leave if conditions worsen or if flooding threatens public safety.

The SLRD has opened an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to Level 1 to respond to intense rainfall related incidents throughout Electoral Areas C and D.  Residents with concerns are asked to contact SLRD Emergency Program Manager, Ryan Wainwright, at (604) 698-6442.
