Rainfall Warning issued for Howe Sound (January 16, 2018)

UPATE: The Rainfall Warning has ended.


Note from the SLRD: The Rainfall Warning below was issued by Environment Canada at 3:23 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Parts of SLRD Area D (particularly the communities of Howe Sound East) and the District of Squamish are impacted by the warning, which will also impact people travelling throughout the Sea to Sky Corridor. 


Current details:
Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

An intense Pacific frontal system will bring heavy rain to Howe Sound on Wednesday. 50 to 60 mm of rain can be expected in that region through Wednesday night.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
