The SLRD understands that Interior Health is responding to two confirmed cases of Covid19 involving two overseas visitors to a location in the SLRD Electoral Area A. These people are no longer in the area, and the SLRD understands that they were tested after arriving back in their home country.
The standard health authority process is to track and advise those who have had direct close contact. Those in direct contact have been advised and are self-isolating.
“The health and wellbeing of our residents throughout the region is of paramount concern to myself, and to the entire SLRD Board of Directors,” said Sal DeMare, Electoral Area A Director.
“Our thoughts are with everyone in the community, as this has heightened anxiety at an already difficult time. I know these are trying times for all of us and many of you may have questions or concerns around this latest news. I urge you all to remain calm, to continue to take the standard precautionary measures as outlined by our healthcare professionals, and, above all else, continue to show compassion toward one another. Our communities are strong and we will get through this together.”
