Information Bulletin: Small wildfire burning on Brunswick Mountain, SLRD Area D

The B.C. Wildfire Service (Coastal Fire Centre) has advised the SLRD that a small wildfire, less than 1 hectare in size, is currently burning on Brunswick Mountain, in the vicinity of the Tunnel Bluffs lookout north of Lions Bay, in SLRD Electoral Area D. The fire was reported in the afternoon on Monday, May 14.

While the fire is visible from the valley bottom / Highway 99, no structures are at risk and there is no threat to public safety at this time.

The SLRD’s Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) has not been activated as a result of this wildfire. However, the Coastal Fire Centre is keeping the SLRD’s Emergency Program Manager informed and the EOC will be activated should conditions warrant.
