State of Local Emergency Declared

Mar 20, 2020
Affected Communities:
Electoral Area A, Electoral Area B, Electoral Area C, Electoral Area D

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) has declared a state of local emergency to more effectively plan for and respond to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.

The declaration applies to all Electoral Areas – i.e. A, B, C and D of the SLRD.

Declaring a state of emergency allows us to take additional measures to ensure we have the resources needed to maintain essential services and meet the demands of other agencies, including Vancouver Coastal Health and Interior Health.

Please note that in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to practice social distancing to limit the transmission of the virus, the SLRD administration office in Pemberton is closed to the public at this time.

Employees are working remotely in order to ensure that essential services are maintained. There may be a delay in responding to public enquiries, but calls and emails to the SLRD office will be answered.
