The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) Administration office, located at 1350 Aster Street in Pemberton, B.C., will be closed on Friday, July 1, 2022 for the statutory holiday.

For residents or those visiting the SLRD this Canada Day – the following is a list of events, including links to more information regarding events in the area.

Britannia Mine Museum

  • The museum is hosting Canada Day Celebrations on Friday, July 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Peoples Parade - Instead of observing the parade as it winds through the Village, locals and visitors can explore fun and engaging stations set up along the Village Stroll at their own pace.
  • The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre is offering free admission for the day.
  • A pancake breakfast is being held at in Whistler Olympic Plaza with donations for Lytton, BC. $7.50 donation per adult and $4 donation per child. 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
  • The Pique Pedal Show & Shine. Kids are invited to decorate their helmets and bikes for judges, followed by a parade with the decorated bikes around perimeter of Whistler Olympic Plaza. 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
  • Sam Roberts and DJ Whitness will perform at Whistler Olympic Plaza – 6:30 p.m.

The Pemberton and District Community Centre is hosting a series of free activities for people of all ages. 

  • Spud Run 8 km - 8:00 a.m.
  • Yoga Class with Julia Harvey - 9:30 a.m.
  • Opening Ceremony - 11:00 a.m.
  • Various family friendly activities such as crafts, Lil’wat Nation drum making and Medicine Bag Craft, Games, facing painting, snow cones and cupcakes, bubble table, chalk art.
  • Live Music by Austin Ross – 11:30 – 1:00 p.m.
  • One Mile Lake events including: Scavenger Hunt 9-10:30 a.m. and Community Regatta from 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Gold Bridge

Canada Day festivities will include a parade, and a barbecue at the Gold Bridge Community School field.
