There are two smouldering fires visible from Lillooet. Both are showing minimal fire activity so far today, however smoke will continue to be visible to surrounding residents.

The Blue Hills fire (near Texas Creek) is estimated at one hectare in size. There are two spot fires up on the hillside. There are 10 sustained-action crew fire fighters and a 3-person rappel crew on site working to establish water delivery and increase fire containment.

The fire near Enterprise Creek is estimated at five hectares in size. Airtankers dropped retardant around it earlier today and a helicopter is bucketing water to cool the fire so it doesn’t challenge retardant lines. Crews are still working to gain access from the ground.

Both of these fires are burning in steep terrain and are suspected to be lightning-caused. No structures are immediately threatened at this time.
