Garibaldi Volunteer Fire Department Chief Ed Jones steps down from command

SLRD Electoral Area D Director Tony Rainbow presents Garibaldi Volunteer Fire Department outgoing Chief Ed Jones with a plaque commemorating 23 years as a volunteer fire fighter, with 8 years as Chief Officer serving Blacktusk and Pinecrest. Chief Jones is retiring from command, but will remain active with the department.

Stepping into the GVFD Chief Officer role is David McCarthy, with 8 years’ experience on the GVFD.

Chief McCarthy looks forward to growing the role of the GVFD in the Blacktusk and Pinecrest community, and to working closely with the community across a range of fire safety projects.
