The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) has met Level 4 recognition in the Green Communities Climate Action Recognition Program.

The SLRD Board received a formal letter of recognition, highlighting this achievement, from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) at its August 29, 2018 Board meeting.

As a signatory to the Climate Action Charter, the SLRD has committed to working with the Province of British Columbia and UBCM to take action on climate change and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in its operations.
