Temporary Closure of Naylor Way

Mar 26, 2020
Affected Communities:
Electoral Area C, Village of Pemberton

Due to the extraordinary circumstances of the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District is taking measures to ensure the safety of our employees and community members, and these measures are being upgraded almost daily as the Prime Minister and Provincial Medical Health Officer continue to strengthen their recommendations and orders.

Due to the volume of people who have been accessing the Naylor Way trail, the SLRD will temporarily close access, effective Friday, March 27, 2020.

While we recognize the desire to get outside and connect with nature and the importance of access to trails to the community, it is essential that we all do our part in limiting movement, avoiding unnecessary travel, not gather in groups and maintaining the recommended six feet of physical distance.

The closure of the Naylor Way trail is a measure to help with physical distancing, keeping groups of people from gathering at the trail head and on the trail.

On Friday, March 27 the SLRD will place a barrier and a sign at the trail head advising of the closure.
