Members of the public are invited to attend an upcoming presentation regarding the findings from recent flood hazard mapping and risk assessment work along the Cheakamus River.
The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District contracted Ebbwater Consulting Inc. to conduct flood hazard mapping and risk assessment along the Cheakamus River between the District of Squamish municipal boundary at Culliton Creek and the Daisy Lake Dam, near Highway 99, from February to November, 2021.
This study includes hydrological (flooding) and geomorphological (erosion/sedimentation) hazard and risk assessments of floodplain and other valley bottom areas located within or near the SLRD Electoral Area D community of Paradise Valley / Tunnel Station.
The SLRD Protective Services department will host a public presentation with Ebbwater Consulting Inc. (and their subcontractor, Palmer) where they will deliver their key findings and take questions from community members.
This public presentation will be delivered virtually via the Zoom meeting platform at 7:00pm on Monday, November 29, 2021. Attendance is free of charge, and accessed using the web link provided.
