Affected Communities:
District of Squamish, Electoral Area D

The SLRD will be hosting a Public Information meeting in Britannia Beach on Monday, September 18, 2017 to present and discuss the following items:

Electoral Area D Proposed Amendments:

  • Electoral Area D Official Community Plan (OCP) Amendment Bylaw No. 1524-2017: The proposed bylaw will amend the existing Electoral Area D Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 1135-2013, in order to incorporate an updated Riparian Protection Development Permit Area and changes to the Comprehensive Development Permit Area around tree cutting at Britannia Beach. The proposal also includes some new agricultural policies around farm worker housing and non-farm uses, and addresses various housekeeping issues.
  • Electoral Area D Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1525-2017: The proposed bylaw will amend the existing Electoral Area D Zoning Bylaw No. 1350-2016 to incorporate new agricultural regulations as a result of recent changes to the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR) Use, Subdivision, and Procedure Regulation. These include the gathering for an event and agritourism changes in July 2016. There are also proposed changes to gross floor area calculations regarding basements and attached garages with respect to dwellings; changes to the Pinecrest Estates Residential 1 (PR1) zone, and rezoning of Rustad Road properties in the Upper Squamish Valley, due to a map error.
