Did you know that failing to properly store your garbage and recycling containers is not only dangerous to wildlife, but also violates the SLRD’s Wildlife Attractant Bylaw?
Please be advised that the SLRD Bylaw Officer will be enforcing infractions to the SLRD’s Wildlife Attractant Bylaw, with a focus on garbage and recycling containers.
Residents are reminded that they must NOT leave, place or store outdoors any solid waste that is an attractant (e.g. garbage, recycling, food waste, etc.) unless stored in both a Wildlife Resistant Container and in a Wildlife Resistant Enclosure. An exception to the above from 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on the day designated by the Regional District for Solid waste collection. Please review the full Wildlife Attractant Bylaw 1551, 2018 for more details and definitions.
