Reid Road Update - December 1, 2021
Due to a washout on Reid Road, at Jason Creek, in the early morning of December 1, 2021, a tactical evacuation was done by Pemberton Fire Rescue and RCMP for some properties on Reid Road, due to immediate life safety concerns.
A tactical evacuation is a no-notice evacuation, and the paperwork for this Order will be posted today, once addresses are confirmed with responding agencies.
Properties not evacuated during this tactical evacuation are not on Evacuation Order at this time.
Reid Road is not accessible at this time. The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI) will be on site to begin road/ Creek assessment today. The SLRD is arranging for an updated geotechnical assessment.
The McKenzie Forest Service Road is available, however there are some issues with ditching; those concerns have been shared with MoTI and the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development (MFLNRORD).
