The SLRD is dedicated to the health and safety of our staff and the communities we serve
We have been closely monitoring and responding to the updates from Federal and Provincial governments and the health authorities regarding COVID-19 and have come to the difficult decision to close the free stores at the Pemberton, Devine and Gold Bridge transfer stations.
We will continue to monitor this situation closely and hope to re-open the free stores when it is safe to do so.
- No drop off or pick-up will be allowed at the free stores until further notice.
- The service of recycling and garbage disposal will continue.
For safety purposes, people are required to keep social distance from each other (1 to 2 metres) and practice good hand hygiene before and after handling any waste.
The SLRD continues to follow the most current advice and direction from British Columbia’s Ministry of Health in order to protect individuals and reduce transmission of COVID-19.
We recognize that the free stores provide a service for our communities, and we regret any inconvenience this temporary closure will cause.
The SLRD will continue to share updated information on its website: www.slrd.bc.ca and Facebook (@TheSLRD and @ZEROinonWASTESLRD)
