As an emergency response the SLRD is providing these residents with access to the water supply from the hydrant located in front of 129 Stonegate Drive for toilet flushing or other uses. Water quality is being monitored to ensure treatment levels remain acceptable. A temporary filling valve is being made available to allow users to manually access water for emergency uses.
To ensure your safety please keep the following in mind:
- Water containers can become easily contaminated and should be protected from outside contamination. A small amount of regular unscented household chlorine bleach (1 teaspoon per 5 litre container) can be used to periodically sanitize the containers before refilling for use.
- Please take care to not handle or contaminate the filling valve.
- Please ensure the valve on the hydrant is fully closed after use.
- Those with very weak immune systems may be at higher risk of water-borne infections and therefore should use boiled or bottled water.
We apologize for the interruption and impacts to affected residents and will provide further updates as repairs progress.
