Concerns regarding air quality persist throughout the SLRD, due to smoke from wildfires burning in BC's Interior.

The provincial government also provides hourly air quality readings for about 80 percent of B.C. residents (you can view the full list of areas here).

Please note, as of 3:30pm Friday August 4, 2017, the air quality for several parts of the SLRD has been rated as High to Very High. Check out the rating in your local area here.

The SLRD encourages residents to plan accordingly given the current air quality situation, and to reschedule or reduce activities outdoors if they experience symptoms such as coughing, or throat irritation.
