This agricultural plan was directed and coordinated by the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) with the involvement and partnership of the District of Lillooet and the St'at'imc Nation, as it pertains to an area encompassed within the Northern St'at'imc Territory. Agricultural plans recognize agriculture as the highest and best use of agricultural land and focus on developing strategies to support a viable agriculture industry at the local level. These plans may be integrated into regional and local plans and provide a forum for discussion concerning issues relevant to farming and the local food system.
The Part 1 report acts as a scoping document and offers an introduction to the agricultural plan process that took place, including a summary of the methodology and planning context. It includes an agricultural profile of the region, a preliminary market opportunities analysis and a regulatory system overview.
