UPDATE: 3:45 pm Monday, September 4, 2017
A contractor is on site at Stonegate Drive. Due to mobilization requirements, full excavation and site works will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, September 5, with full water service expected to be restored by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon or sooner if possible. All efforts will be made to restore water service as quickly as possible on Tuesday.
Any affected resident who needs additional supplies of bottled drinking water please contact SLRD Senior Technologist Ed Witwicki on (604) 698 6041. Ed will be back on site first thing Tuesday morning with any additional supplies required.
The hydrant with a valve located in front of 129 Stonegate Drive will continue to be available for residents to get bulk supplies of water for toilet flushing or other uses. There are some sealed containers at the hydrant for this use. Residents are asked to return these containers so that they may be used by others, and ensure that the valve on the hydrant is fully closed after use.
We apologize for the interruption and impacts to affected residents, especially on this long weekend. We are working to have this break fixed as soon as possible and will provide further updates as repairs progress.

Affected Communities: Furry Creek, Electoral Area D
There has been a watermain break at the top of Stonegate Drive I Furry Creek. Due to this, water has been shut off in the local area. The SLRD is bringing equipment onsite to undertake a repair of this main. Until we excavate and locate the source of the break, we cannot predict how long it will be until water service is restored.
We have brought in drinking water to the affected residents and this will be available until water service is restored. In addition, the Britannia Beach Volunteer Fire Department has rigged a hydrant with a valve in front of 129 Stonegate Drive for affected residents to be able to get bulk supplies of water for toilet flushing, or other uses. There are some sealed containers at the hydrant for this purpose.
As this water main break has impacted the road surface (to an unknown extent at the current time) please do not drive on Stonegate Drive unless necessary, and do not drive on the road surface that has been cordoned off by pylons.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we will provide updates to our website as available.
