Overview

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) received a zoning amendment application for 9035 Riverside Drive in WedgeWoods Estates. The application is to permit the existing Show Home/Sales Centre to function as an accessory building of up to 200m2 (currently permitted) with an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) of up to 140m2. Currently, the maximum ADU gross floor area is capped at 110m2. If approved, this proposed amendment will enable the future construction of a principal residence on the 1.42ha (3.52 acre) parcel.

Current Status

The application was introduced at the June 26, 2024 SLRD Board meeting. At that meeting, the public hearing was waived as the SLRD is prohibited from holding a public hearing on a zoning amendment bylaw for residential development as per Local Government Act Section 464.
