Overview

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) received a zoning and Official Community Plan (OCP) amendment application for 128 Lorne Street in Bralorne, BC. The application is to permit the Bralorne Adventure Lodge to operate commercial lodging including up to 5 rooms in the existing lodge, up to 6 standalone cabins, and a new common facilities building including a garage, accessory dwelling unit for a caretaker, and common washroom facilities.

If approved, the property would be rezoned from Rural Resource 2 (RR2) to a site-specific Tourist Commercial zone. The OCP designation would be amended from Residential and Resource Management to Commercial.

The proposed new cabin and common facilities building development would be limited to an area of the parcel that is outside of Riparian Assessment Areas and may be serviced by SLRD-managed water and sewer systems, as shown below.

Current Status

This application and draft bylaws were given Second Reading by the SLRD Board of Directors at their meeting of June 26, 2024. A Public Hearing was held on July 30th, 2024 at 7pm.

At their meeting of September 25, 2024, the SLRD Board declined to give third reading to the subject bylaws and requested further information from the applicant and staff to schedule a second electronic public hearing. An electronic public hearing was held on November 27, 2025, at 7pm. However, the electronic public hearing held on November 27, 2025, did not meet the legislated requirements under the Local Government Act due to administrative error.

Additionally, in December 2024, the SLRD adopted a new OCP (OCP Bylaw No. 1822-2023). As a result, a new OCP Amendment bylaw was prepared for this application to reference OCP Bylaw No. 1822-2023, and it received first and second reading on January 28, 2025. Now that the amending bylaws are up to date, the second public hearing can be held in accordance with the Local Government Act.

It is important to note that all submissions and comments received for the November 27, 2025, Public Hearing remain valid. Community members who already made comment during that period do not need to re-submit, and their feedback will form part of the public hearing record.

Public Hearing

The Public Hearing will be held on February 17, 2026, at 7:00pm PST. Please return to this page three days before, for access to the Zoom link.
