Essential Services to Continue; Administration Office in Pemberton is Closed to the Public Until Further Notice
Pemberton, BC – The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) is closing its administration office in Pemberton and cancelling all public events effective today, following the regular Board meeting.
This is in response to the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation and the Prime Minister of Canada’s direction that all Canadians should, as much as possible, stay home. Essential services will continue to be delivered.
Demare scheduled to be sworn in at February 26, 2020 Board Meeting
Pemberton, BC – Sal Demare has been elected to the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District Board of Directors as the Electoral Area A Director. General voting day for the Electoral Area A Director by-election was Saturday February 15, 2020. Mr. Demare is scheduled to be sworn in at the SLRD Board meeting on February 26, 2020.

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) Board meets Wednesday, December 18, 2019.
The meeting takes place in the SLRD Boardroom at 1350 Aster Street, Pemberton. The meeting begins at 10:30 a.m. The agenda package is available on the SLRD website.
Directors Rainbow and Ford to continue in roles until December, 2020
Pemberton, BC – The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) Board has elected its Chair and Vice-Chair positions for the coming year.
Electoral Area D Director Tony Rainbow was re-elected by the Board to the position of Chair and Resort Municipality of Whistler Director Jen Ford was re-elected by the Board to the position of Vice-Chair at the Board’s November meeting.
General voting day for the by-election to take place on Saturday February 15, 2020
Pemberton, BC – The general voting day for the by-election to fill the Electoral Area A Director position on the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District Board will take place on Saturday February 15, 2020 (location to be determined).
The position was left vacant with the resignation of then-Director John Courchesne. Since that time, the position has been filled by Steven Oakley, who was previously the Alternate Director for Electoral Area A.
