Public Information Meeting - Electoral Area C Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1549-2017

A public information meeting on Electoral Area C Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1549-2017 that updates the existing Electoral Area C Zoning Bylaw No. 765, 2002 will be held on Wednesday April 11, 2018 from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm in the Great Hall at the Pemberton and District Community Centre, 7390 Cottonwood Street, Pemberton, BC

POSTPONED: Public Hearing: SLRD Area C Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1549 - 2017

UPDATE: February 22, 2018

The Public Hearing for Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1549-2017, originally scheduled for March 13, 2018, has been postponed. The new date for the Public Hearing has not yet been determined, though it will likely be in April. 

The Public Hearing was postponed after a group of residents advised the SLRD of their intent to submit comments regarding the proposed bylaw, following a resident-led meeting held on February 16.


Pursuant to Section 464 of the Local Government Act this is to provide notice of intent of the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District to amend Squamish-Lillooet Regional District Zoning Bylaw No. 670, 1999 in a manner consistent with the Upper Bridge River Valley Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 608, 1996.

Public Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 467 of the Local Government Act that a Public Hearing will be waived regarding the following bylaw:

Information Meeting for Bridge River Valley residents re: proposed communication site on Mt. Penrose (SLRD Area A)

The SLRD received a zoning amendment application for a proposed private communications tower on an unsurveyed parcel of Crown land on Mount Penrose, adjacent to Gun Lake, in SLRD Electoral Area A. The Zoning Amendment Application received first reading on July 26, 2017 and the referral period was initiated. More information about the Zoning Amendment Application, including a Location Site Plan and related Staff Reports, is available here.

Clarification regarding Area C Zoning & OCP Bylaws (Public Hearing set for September 13)

The SLRD has become aware of some concerns around the proposed new Electoral Area C Official Community Plan (OCP) and Zoning Bylaws.
