SLRD Agricultural Plan in finals for 2016 Land Awards; winners announced October 21

Squamish-Lillooet Regional District Electoral Area B, District of Lillooet and St’át’imc Agricultural Plan recognized as a leading public-sector initiative in creating more resilient, healthy communities and natural environments

Lillooet/Northern St’át’imc territory, BC – The SLRD was recognized for its work in collaborative agricultural planning yesterday by the Real Estate Foundation of BC, a philanthropic organization that helps advance sustainable land use in British Columbia.

Area D OCP Amendment Public Hearing

The public hearing for the proposed Electoral Area D Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 1135-2013, Amendment Bylaw No. 1433-2016 has been scheduled for Thursday June 16 at 7 pm at the District of Squamish Municipal Hall - 37955 Second Avenue, Squamish, BC.

The public hearing for OCP Amendment Bylaw No. 1440-2016 and Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1441-2016 has been scheduled for Thursday May 19 at 6 pm at the Gold Bridge Community Club - 699 Gun Lake West Road, Gold Bridge, BC.  The SLRD teleconference line will be available for people to call in during the public hearing.  The phone number is 1-877-385-4099 and the code is 54048#

Land alteration and tree cutting/pruning in Electoral Area D

In Electoral Area D, prior to any land alteration including vegetation or tree cutting, pruning, or removal occurring on a lot, a Comprehensive Development Permit from the SLRD must be obtained by the landowner. 

In Electoral Area D, if a building permit application has been submitted then limited tree cutting and vegetation removal may occur within the proposed building site in association with that building permit application.  This is potentially subject to a Riparian Protection Development Permit if occurring within 30 m of a waterbody.
