Under the Local Government Act, a regional district with a Regional Growth Strategy (RGS) must establish a program to monitor its implementation and the progress made towards its objectives. An important component of this is an annual report on that implementation and progress.
To create a more efficient monitoring program for the SLRD, indicators that measure progress toward the RGS and also satisfy the monitoring requirements for the Integrated Sustainability Plan (ISP) were selected.

The intention is to increase awareness as to the role of regional districts in general and the SLRD Planning & Development Department in particular, as well as to provide information as to the relevant bylaws, plans and development permit areas that apply in Britannia Beach.
