Pemberton Spray Park Opening Delayed
Opening aimed at June 1, 2019
Due to an unanticipated mechanical failure, opening of the spray park at the Pemberton & District Community Centre will be delayed.
We apologize for the delayed opening and are working to get the park open as soon as possible.
Replacement parts have been ordered and the goal is to have the spray park functioning by June 1, based on parts and contractor availability.
Updates will be provided on the SLRD website and Facebook.
Squamish-Lillooet Regional District and Village of Pemberton Finalize Transfer of Management of Pemberton and District Recreation Service
Transfer effective June 1, 2019; Current Service Levels Maintained
Pemberton, BC – The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) and the Village of Pemberton (Village) have finalized the transfer of management of the Pemberton and District Recreation Service (Service), effective as of June 1, 2019 for a five-year term.
The process for transferring management of the Service from the SLRD to the Village was first announced in the spring of 2018, with final approval by the SLRD Board and Village Council occurring in late 2018.

Pemberton, BC – With funding support from the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation and Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) Recreation Services (SLRD Electoral Area C and the Village of Pemberton), phase three of the Children’s Nature Play Park is now complete, adding new climbing and play structures to the existing nature-inspired park at the Pemberton & District Community Centre.

Soccer field fully funded and to begin construction this summer
PEMBERTON, BC – Through generous contributions from community and federal partners, the Pemberton Soccer Field project will begin construction this summer. Situated on the recreation lands located on Pemberton Farm Road East, the grass soccer field will be constructed throughout the remainder of 2018 and open for use in Fall 2019.
Canada Day 2018: Pemberton & SLRD Area C Celebrations
Gates Lake Community Park: Tree assessment and maintenance planned for June 15 (8am - 5pm)
As part of the Pemberton and SLRD Area C Recreation Service's yearly preventative maintenance at Gates Lake Community Park, an arborist visits the park each spring to assess the health of the trees in the park, and to conduct maintenance as required.
The arborist will be on-site on Friday, June 15 from 8 am - 5 pm.
To ensure the safety of park users, some areas of the park will be cordoned off while the work is conducted.
We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience as we undertake this important maintenance.

SLRD and Village of Pemberton Support Transfer of Recreation Services Management to the Village of Pemberton
Recreation Service to Maintain Current Levels During and Following Management Transfer
PEMBERTON, BC –The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) and the Village of Pemberton (Village) have agreed to pursue a transfer of the management of the Pemberton and District Recreation Service from the SLRD to the Village. Staff from both organizations will draft a Management Agreement to set out the terms and conditions of the transfer; the draft is expected to be presented to the SLRD Board and Village Council for approval in the fall.
