Britannia Beach Trails & Open Spaces

Britannia Beach is a small waterfront community located in Electoral Area D of the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District. It has a long, storied history; the community was first developed in the early 1900s as a residential area for staff of the Britannia Mining and Smelting Co. In its heyday, more than 2,000 miners and their families called the area home. Today, the community is home to about 300 residents.

The SLRD has taken on the management of Britannia’s open spaces and trails on behalf of the community. The community features several paved and gravel walking trails connecting the neighbourhoods. The SLRD also manages the Britannia playground.
