The SLRD Board has proclaimed May 25 - 31, 2015 Bike to Work Week in the SLRD.
Bike to Work Week helps build more vibrant, green and healthy communities by encouraging residents to bike to work (or school) instead of commuting by car. Riding a bike to work (or school) is part of a healthy lifestyle and helps prevent health issues through regular exercise. It is also a great way to avoid vehicle emissions that are harmful to our health and contribute to climate change.
In the SLRD, Bike to Work Week is being coordinated by the Sea to Sky Clean Air Society. Like last year, the Clean Air Society is engaging Whistler, Pemberton and Squamish in a friendly competition where the community with the highest per capita participation will receive a large Cora bike rack. The second and third place communities will each receive medium and small bike racks respectively.
Sign up, support your community & win great prizes!
