Applications for new long-term funding are due by 4 p.m. on October 15, 2026
Pemberton, BC – The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) is now accepting applications from eligible not-for-profit organizations for 2027 funding through the Pemberton and District Initiative Fund (PDIF), subject to available funding.
Jointly funded by the SLRD and the Village of Pemberton, PDIF provides financial support to qualifying initiatives that enhance community life in Electoral Area C and Village of Pemberton. Established in 2019, PDIF has provided more than $1 million in funding to not-for-profit organizations.
Within the two streams (Economic Development and Arts, Culture & Recreation), eligible organizations can apply for long-term funding, one-time funding or fee waivers. Funding is limited, with available funding for each stream determined by the SLRD Board as part of its annual budgeting process. As a result, requested funding may exceed available funding.
PDIF is administered by the Pemberton Valley Utilities and Services (PVUS) Committee, which is comprised of elected officials from Electoral Area C and Village of Pemberton. Each year, the PDIF budget is developed and recommended by the PVUS Committee and ratified by the SLRD Board.
The PVUS Committee reviews eligible applications and, subject to available funding and the terms of the PDIF Policy, makes recommendations to the SLRD Board for final consideration.
Applications for new long-term funding requests starting in 2027 must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on October 15, 2026. Applications for one-time funding requests and fee waiver requests may be submitted throughout the year, subject to available funding. Visit the PDIF page on the SLRD website for eligibility requirements, how much long-term, one-time and fee waiver funding may be requested, application forms and more information.
