About the program
The Local FireSmart Collective Program (LFCP) is a new, BC-specific program designed to help communities work together to reduce wildfire risk. Starting in spring 2026, SLRD FireSmart will be moving away from the FireSmart Canada Neighbourhood Recognition Program (NRP) and begin transitioning its communities to the new LFCP.
SLRD communities currently recognized under NRP will continue to receive support until 2027.
For any questions regarding the new LFCP or the NRP, please reach out to our team by emailing firesmart@slrd.bc.ca.
