This application relates to the proposed installation of an 18,000-gallon skidded propane storage tank at 7506 Pemberton Portage Road near Mount Currie, BC (see map) for the purpose of refueling propane trucks for private distribution. The subject property is located in a low density rural area, on a site that is also used for mining operations.
A geotechnical assessment confirms that the site has suitable bearing capacity and no identified concerns related to settlement, slope stability, or drainage. Pemberton Fire Rescue has reviewed the proposal and has no objections, subject to compliance with Technical Safety BC requirements and CSA B149.2 standards.
The application is submitted for Temporary Use Permit approval as the proposed propane storage use is not otherwise permitted under the current Rural 1 zoning.
The Board of Directors will meet on June 24, 2026 to make a decision on this application.
