A Regular Meeting of the Electoral Area Directors (EAD) Committee will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the SLRD Administration Building, 1350 Aster Street, Pemberton, BC (the “Meeting Location”).

Pinecrest, Britannia Beach & Furry Creek Water Restrictions
As severe drought conditions persist across the province, the Government of British Columbia is urging everyone to do their part to conserve water.
Electoral Area D is currently experiencing a drought level 5 (the highest drought level). In response, Pinecrest, Britannia Beach and Furry Creek water system users are being asked to conserve water through increased watering and sprinkling restrictions:
All sprinkling and irrigation are prohibited.
Curbside Tune-Up - July 26
The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District in partnership with Squamish Climate Action Network (Squamish CAN) is conducting curbside collection services checks to help residents improve their recycling and organics collection. The Tune-Up Team will visit the neighborhoods of Britannia Beach and Furry Creek for brief checks of recycling totes on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

A Regular Meeting of the Electoral Area Directors (EAD) Committee will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the SLRD Administration Building, 1350 Aster Street, Pemberton, BC (the “Meeting Location”).

Porteau Cove Campground Zoning and OCP Amendment Application
The SLRD received a development application for a proposed campground on a 7.27 hectare parcel of land adjacent to the existing Porteau Cove Provincial Park. Existing site uses include aggregate extraction and undistributed forested slopes. The application proposes 50 tent camp sites, 39 RV camp sites, and 1740m2 of amenity/commercial including 8 one-bedroom staff accommodations.
Britannia Beach Volunteer Fire Department achieves Interior Attack training level
New designation brings new skills to fighting structure fires
The Britannia Beach Volunteer Fire Department has achieved a significant milestone which will improve its service to the community.
The BBVFD has successfully transitioned from an exterior attack department to an interior attack department, which enables firefighters to enter a burning structure, conduct rescues and attack a fire from within the building.
