Directors Jen Ford and Vivian Birch-Jones move into new positions for 2021

Pemberton, BC – The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) Board elected its Chair and Vice-Chair for the coming year at its meeting on November 25.

Resort Municipality of Whistler Director Jen Ford, who formerly served as Vice-Chair, was elected as Board Chair, replacing outgoing Chair Tony Rainbow. Electoral Area B Director Vivian Birch-Jones was acclaimed as Vice-Chair.

“I appreciate the Board’s confidence and I would like to thank my colleagues for their support,” said Director Ford. “I welcome the opportunity to serve the Board and constituents of the SLRD as Chair,” said Director Ford.

Ford thanked outgoing chair, Electoral Area D Director Tony Rainbow, for his service as Board Chair. “We are all indebted to Director Rainbow for his leadership over the past two years, particularly through the unprecedented challenges of operating in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Ford. “Director Rainbow has been a passionate advocate for the people of this great region, and I look forward to stepping into the role of Chair to continue this important work.”
