Here is a summary of decisions made at the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District Board and Committee meetings of February 2017.

The SLRD Board continues to develop the 2017- 2021 Financial Plan including operational and capital budgets. The Sea to Sky Regional Hospital District Board continues to develop the 2017 Financial Plan including the operational and capital budget.
Pemberton Music Festival Temporary Use Permit
The current Pemberton Music Festival Temporary Use Permit was renewed for a term of three years.
Local Government Association - 2017 Resolutions
A resolution requesting that the Province change the provincial/local government cost sharing percentage in regards to the Emergency Program Act’s Compensation and Disaster Financial Assistance Regulation for rural areas from the existing 80% Province / 20% Local Government split to a 90% Province / 10% Local Government split has been forwarded to the Lower Mainland Local Government Association and to the Southern Interior Local Government Association for their consideration to bring forward to the 2017 Union of British Columbia Municipalities Convention.
Líl’wat Nation - Western Economic Diversification Fund Application
A letter was sent to support the Lil'wat Nation’s funding application to the Western Economic Diversification Fund for infrastructure servicing for the new Lil'wat Gas Station and adjacent commercial space development.
The SLRD will direct legal counsel to advise FortisBC that the SLRD considers itself to be the zoning authority for the proposed Mt. Mulligan compressor station site with respect to the Woodfibre LNG project in Electoral Area D and to request that FortisBC produce, as soon as possible, any exemptions held by FortisBC that may potentially impact the required rezoning of the site.
Illegal Dumping Ads
The SLRD will look into radio ads for illegal dumping and collaborate with member municipalities to run the ads on local radio stations.
St’át’imc Eco-Resources Ltd. - Request for Support
The SLRD supports the St’át’imc, through their economic entity St’át’imc Eco-Resources Ltd. (“SER”), for the St’át’imc Cultural Centre and Visitor gateway project and will participate on a Steering Committee comprised of St’át’imc (SER and others), the SLRD and other interested parties. Director Lampman was appointed as the SLRD’s representative on the Steering Committee.
Portal Signage - Area D
The Board supports the creation of a 'welcome' sign to be placed at the entrance to the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District on Highway 99.
Village of Pemberton and Electoral Area C Fire Services Agreement
The current Fire Services Agreement between the Village of Pemberton and the SquamishLillooet Regional District was extended to March 31, 2017 to allow additional time to finalize the new, longer term agreement.
Operation Lifesaver - Rail Safety Week
The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District declares the week of April 24-30, 2017 to be Rail Safety Week.
Aster Street Administrative Office Renovations
The Aster Street administration building renovation project, upon approval of the SLRD electors, will be financed via a Municipal Finance Authority loan of up to $1,000,000 with a 15-year term, with approval of the electors to be obtained via Alternative Approval Process.
Sea to Sky Regional Hospital District Board
$696,000 will be allocated to the Squamish Hospice Society towards capital construction costs of the Sea to Sky Community Hospice, with one-half of the Funding to be provided in 2017 and the other half in 2018.
